Privacy Policy
This is the plain-English version of how Trellis Digital ("Trellis", "we", "us") handles your information. It's written for Malaysian businesses and aligned with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).
Who we are
Trellis Digital is a solo-operated web studio based in Kuala Lumpur, run by Yuen Jou Lim. If you have questions about anything below, email hello@trellisdigital.my.
What we collect
We collect only what's needed to talk to you and serve your project. That means:
- Contact details you give us — name, email, phone, business name — when you book a call or send a message.
- Project information you share during an engagement — brand assets, account access, business details — held for the purpose of doing the work.
- Site analytics via Vercel Analytics: anonymous, cookieless page views and load metrics. We don't track you across sites.
We don't run advertising trackers, third-party pixels, or cookie-based analytics on this website.
How we use it
- To respond to your inquiry and discuss your project.
- To deliver the services you've engaged us for.
- To send you the monthly report and project communication during an active engagement.
- To understand which pages of our site are useful (anonymous analytics only).
We don't sell, rent, or share your data with marketers. Ever.
Who we share it with
To run the business we use a small set of trusted sub-processors:
- Vercel — hosts this website and runs anonymous analytics.
- Google Workspace — handles our email.
During an active engagement we may also access platforms you authorise — for example, your hosting account, Google Business Profile, or booking system — strictly to perform the work agreed.
How long we keep it
Inquiry-stage contact details are kept for up to 12 months after our last conversation, then deleted. Active client records are kept for the duration of the engagement and for up to 7 years after closure, to meet Malaysian tax and accounting obligations.
Your rights under PDPA
Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of anything inaccurate.
- Withdraw consent to our use of your data.
- Ask us to stop processing it for direct marketing (we don't do this anyway).
To exercise any of these, email hello@trellisdigital.my. We respond within 14 days.
Security
We use industry-standard practices: HTTPS for the website, encrypted email, password managers for shared credentials, and access only on devices we control. No system is 100% secure, but we take care.
Children
Trellis is a B2B service for adult business owners. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything material, we'll update the date at the top and — if you're an active client — let you know directly.
